It's sure tough these days to get a D1 scholarship if you are a Canadian athlete due to the fact the USA isn't struggling much these days in terms of depth like they did 15 to 20 years ago when they simply couldn't match Canadian recruits in the 20 to 300 range of the ranking lists in country next to country comparisons. However, talent is still talent, and we don't think it's out of the question Jeanson (late 1997, F, 5'8", 170 pounds) will have to stand a heavy barrage of offers from D 1 schools this year as he's playing for a team that will get a lot of attention, the MJHL's Portage Terriers, who just happen to be hosting the Royal Bank Cup (Canadian Junior A championships) this season.
